Save the Date - Durham Bird Club AGM – Wednesday 10th September 2025
We’re excited to invite all paid-up club members to the Durham Bird Club Annual General Meeting, taking place at 7:00pm on Wednesday 10th September 2025 at WWT Washington.
Full details on how to attend will be included in the formal notice of the meeting, in due course.
Board and committee appointments
In this, the Club’s 50th Anniversary Year, we recognise that it is time to renew, re-energise, and reimagine what the Club can be for the next generation of birders and conservationists in the County and the right time to inject fresh energy and new ideas.
We are looking for people to join the Board and wider Committee to help lead and deliver our work in a range of key areas, including:
• Conservation and habitat protection
• Bird recording, surveys and research
• Field trips, events and public engagement
• Communications, digital platforms, and outreach
• Membership, systems, administration, and governance
If you care about birds and nature, enjoy working with others, and want to help shape the future of local ornithology and conservation in County Durham, we need your support - whether you’re an expert or simply enthusiastic and keen to learn.
You don’t need previous experience on a committee. What matters most is your enthusiasm, ideas, energy and commitment.
Why Come to the AGM?
• Elect the next team to lead and manage the Club
• Share your ideas for the year ahead
• Discover how you can help, big or small
• Find out about our new online recording platform, bird.club – an exciting new development, exclusively for members, to share records, sightings, photos and discussion about birds in our County
• Enjoy meeting and connecting with fellow birders
