David Andrew Johnson

David Andrew Johnson began performing in his teens in Indiana, and played in Texas and Florida before moving to Washington DC where he fronted The Side Dish for a decade. The band recorded their album “Live at Sun Studio” at Sam Phillips’ legendary studio in Memphis, which reviewers said sounded like “REM crashed into the Allman Brothers Tour Bus.” He’s played with numerous musicians in the DMV and rock legends like Buck Dharma of Blue Oyster Cult and Mike Peters of the Alarm among others. A multi instrumentalist and producer, he wrote and recorded his new album Sprout as a full solo effort.
