Workshop 1
Risk Assessment and Building Walk-Through for Arts and Humanities Organizations” This 2.5-hour workshop will provide an introduction to emergency preparedness, with risk assessment exercises participants can utilize at their home organization. Attendees will learn basic information to utilize in creating a draft disaster plan, and walk through the Dance Place facility to learn how to do a risk assessment. Participants will also gain information about disaster resources and cooperative disaster planning which can be used in regional settings after the class. Workshop 2
During this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn about developing the components of a Disaster Plan for their organization and will have an opportunity to bring your draft plans or background documentation to the class to discuss them one-on-one with local, regional, and national arts and cultural experts with disaster experience. Bring your planning documents – whatever shape they are in – and your interest to this session and leave with resources to help you develop, revise, or update your plan.
* There will not be lunch served so please be prepared to bring a bag lunch or take the lunch break to go grab some food nearby in Brookland.**
Attendees can choose to attend either workshop and are encouraged to stay the whole day*
