2025 Around the World Embassy Tour -- Non-Embassy Volunteers - SHIFT 2

Be an Events DC volunteer during Around the World Embassy Tour. This event is an exciting way to learn about the diplomatic community in Washington, DC.

There are different volunteer positions, and there are two shifts during the day. This is for SHIFT 2. Below you will find the description of each position. The Shift Times are shown in the ticket information.

We will send you a series of e-mails with the dates and times for Volunteer Orientation as well as the specific details about your shift arrival location and on-site contacts. Please make sure you have ZXZkY3ZvbHVudGVlciB8IGdtYWlsICEgY29t as an approved e-mail in your system !

Information Booth and Logistics Volunteers

Volunteers in these two roles are station at the information booths at Dupont Circle, UDC/Van Ness and The Square. The logistic volunteers, however, may be deployed to the field to replace no-show volunteers and re-stock embassies with maps where needed.

Other Responsibilities:

• Help participants find the best route to the embassies.

• Help participants read the map provided inside the program guide.

• Invite participants to download the new Passport DC App.

• Hand out program guides and souvenir passports
• Encourage participants to attend the other Passport DC events: International City Festival, Flower Mart, EU Open House and Fiesta Asia!

• Volunteers also might be asked to assist Events DC staff with the set-up and break-down of the Passport DC information booths and checking-in other volunteers.

Social Media Volunteer

Social Media Volunteers help spread the word about Around the World Embassy Tour on their own social media accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Follow Events DC on your favorite social media accounts ( X @TheEventsDC, Instagram @Events DC @ Facebook OfficialEventsDC)

• A couple of days before the event, volunteers will invite people to join Around the World Embassy Tour 2025.

• On the day of the event, volunteers will visit the embassies they are assigned to and post pictures and information from those embassies on their social media accounts.

• Volunteers will create social media posts with pictures of activities, dances, food, dance, handicrafts and more and will tag Events DC.

• Hashtags and handles: @TheEventsDC, Instagram @EventsDC, @ Facebook OfficialEventsDC, #EventsDC, #PassportDC, #PassportDC2025, #AWET2025 #AroundTheWorldEmbassyTour, and #embassyof(name of the embassy), #(Country of the embassy).
