2025 Around the World Embassy Tour - Embassy Volunteer - SHIFT 1

Be an Events DC volunteer during Around the World Embassy Tour. This event is an exciting way to learn about the diplomatic community in Washington, DC.

Embassy Volunteers Shift 1 - (8:30 am - 1:30 pm)

Embassy volunteers are located at each participating embassy. They are generally the first point of contact with the public at the entrance of the embassies. In addition to greeting the visitors, these volunteers count the number of people entering the embassy with a clicker.

Other Responsibilities are:

• Welcome visitors as they enter the embassy.

• Count each person entering the embassy or embassy grounds if the activities are outside.

• Hand out program guides and souvenir passports, if needed.

• Invite participants to download the new Passport DC App.

• Tell participants that they can get their souvenir passports stamped at the embassies.

• Encourage participants to attend the other Passport DC events: International City Festival, Flower Mart, EU Open House and Fiesta Asia!

• Complete a site report with the visitor count information. At the end of your shift, please hand this report to Shift 2 volunteers. They will return it to the closest information booth at the end of their shift.

• Stamp souvenir passports if you are asked by the embassy staff.

• Please stay at the embassy until your replacement arrives.

Please be advised that photographs will be taken at the event for use on the Events DC and Passport DC websites, in social media and the press, Passport DC marketing materials and all other Events DC publications.
