All money raised will be going to the family of Kole Bruna.
Kole William was born on 11/28/24 to Brock and Melissa Bruna and has 3 older, very proud sisters,
Maura (6), Camri (4) and Jayda (2). Unfortunately, Kole was diagnosed in utero with a congenital heart
defect, hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). In short, the left side of his heart is underdeveloped and
unable to perform the tasks it should. After visiting with many doctors and other families who have
children with the same diagnosis, we made the decision to go to Boston Children's Hospital for his care.
On December 3rd , at 5 days old, Kole underwent his first of three surgeries to repair his heart. The
surgery went as planned and other than a couple small hiccups, recovery went very well. Kole was
discharged on January 22 nd and took his first flight and headed home at 8 weeks old. His next surgery is
scheduled for March 19 th so Kole will return to Boston on the 13 th to take care of pre-op appointments
and have a heart cath done. Recovery for the second surgery is usually much shorter compared to the
first surgery as they expect him to be out in 1-2 weeks. He will have a third (and hopefully final) surgery
for sure at some point down the road, most likely between 3-5 years of age.
