Terry Armstrong is an avid runner who finds joy in outdoor activities like fishing and hiking. It's no surprise, then, that his watercolor paintings often reflect his connection to nature, capturing the tranquil beauty of everyday life in the Midwest.
“Being a Hoosier offers endless opportunities for an artist in all seasons,” Terry says. “Spending time on my grandparents’ farm, roaming woodlands and lakes, visiting the Amish, or just traveling back roads all influence my appreciation and love for Indiana.”
“Picture Perfect: An afternoon with Terry Armstrong” will give you an insider’s look at the Indiana Artisan’s work, his creative space, and his philosophy. It will be held 2-5 p.m. Aug. 16 in his Warsaw, Indiana, studio. Terry will demonstrate his creative process, tell about his storied art career, and offer time to browse his work or talk one-on-one with him. Indiana Artisan wines and chocolates will be served, as well as other light refreshments.
Seating is limited to ensure strong interaction with each participant. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance.
Each year, the Afternoons with Artist series is offered to connect art enthusiasts with artisans in their creative spaces. Free admission to them is one benefit of joining Friends of Indiana Artisan, a program that supports initiatives to help artisans build their businesses and business skills.
