AFRAID OF MESSAGES
Afraidofmessages, aka AOM, is a solo project by Sonja Aguilar
(guitarist and vocalist of noise-rock/no-wave band BRAK). With
origins in the complexities of working with physiological and
psychological trauma, AOM is experimenting with analogue synths, guitar and various percussion for a sonic output in the form of the genre 'experimental dream-noise', exploring the edges between harshness and tenderness.
"In a world where aggression and anger is consistent throughout
most human existence and experience, AOM, is trying to create
space for the importance of vulnerability and softness with deep
listening to our greatest potentials: fears. With different approaches to simple and analogue instruments, AOM sifts through the atmospheric, floating and meditative landscape of sonic awareness and body attentiveness.

cirocki, previously and currently in noise rock bands złota jesień

MARLOTTE NUGTEREN
Having a long fascination for whistles after playing the flute as a
child, Marlotte Nugteren (Rotterdam, NL) started making ceramic
whistles after encountering a ceramic bird whistle in a thrift shop
in Helsinki. This find prompted an obsession for ceramic animal
whistles that eventually urged her to go back to Finland to research and make the whistles herself.
Using her voice as an instrument and different effect pedals in
combination with the innocent sounds of the whistles she creates
an enigmatic en daunting musical composition surrounding
themes of decay and destruction and the inner struggle about the current time we live in.
Marlotte’s approach is driven by playful curiosity with a strong
interest in intuitive playing and improvisation.
