Seed saving skills share with Neil Barraclough

We're very lucky to have Neil Barraclough of the Heritage and Rare Fruit Network back for one night only to share his seed saving presentation. He is a horticultural guru, so don't miss this opportunity before he heads back to Gippsland!

Seed saving has heaps of benefits benefits, including saving you money, increased self-reliance meaning you don't need to get seeds from other sources, and the ability to breed plants adapted to your local conditions. It promotes genetic diversity and allows you to connect more deeply with your food.

But there can be some tricks to it, some varieties cross-pollinate more than others which brings different challenges. Neil has quite a bit of experience to share with us which will save you years of trial and error.

By saving seeds from the healthiest plants, we can create strains that are more resilient to local pests, diseases, and climate variations.

Grab your dinner at the weekly Wednesday market on 13 August from 3-6pm then join for an evening of knowledge sharing with over 30 years of insights from Neil.

$10 donation to the Sprouts Club kids gardening program will be going towards supporting the next generation of growers!
