International Lighthouse Weekend

On the 16th and 17th of August Flagstaff Hill will be presenting a weekend of winter fun and entertainment with an international celebration of Lighthouses and the third annual Fire Night.

The Flagstaff Hill upper and lower lighthouses are among many worldwide being celebrated over a weekend dedicated to highlighting the importance of promoting, preserving and protecting lighthouse heritage. To mark this occasion, Flagstaff Hill, in collaboration with the Warrnambool Men's Shed Radio Group, will light up the airwaves with a radio broadcast from the upper lighthouse complex.

The annual event will bring together over 400 lighthouse-based amateur radio groups from across the world, all aiming to communicate with as many other operators as possible over the course of the weekend.
Historical presentations and kids’ craft activities will also be happening across the weekend.
