Join us for In Their Own Words, a powerful 60-minute readers theater presented by community member Eddie Osborne. This unique performance brings to life real letters from World War II—written by loved ones, family members, and friends—as they experienced the trials, triumphs, and emotions of a world at war.
These letters, submitted by our local community, have been transformed into a moving dialogue that captures the deeply personal and human side of history. Through the voices of the past, we invite you to feel the heartbreak, hope, and resilience that defined a generation.
If you have WWII-era letters you’d like to share for possible inclusion, please bring them to the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce (100 S Holden St) or Warrensburg Convention and Visitor Bureau (205 N Holden St) we’ll make a copy and return the original to you.
Come honor the voices of history and the people who lived it, in their own words. This event is free the community and donations will be accepted for the Warrensburg Veterans Home and Veteran Assistant League.
Historic preservation is at the heart of Warrensburg Main Street’s mission. In honor of Historic Preservation Month, we’re proud to partner with community member Eddie Osbourne to present this meaningful event that reflects our shared commitment to preserving local history.
As Missouri’s designated World War Two Heritage City, Warrensburg holds a special place in the story of that era and we hope this event serves as a heartfelt tribute to the individuals and memories that helped shape our community.
