‘Regeneration / Transformation’ exhibit\ explores renewal and change

Imago Foundation for the Arts presents "Regeneration | Transformation," an exhibition on view at Imago Gallery, 36 Market Street in Warren, July 17 – August 24, exploring the profound processes of renewal and change and capturing the essence of cycles that reshape the world around us and within us.

The work of close to 40 guest artists, IFA's stable of exhibiting artists and 11 invited poets delve into the metamorphic power of nature, human experiences, and societal shifts, celebrating the perpetual flow of endings that become beginnings with a wide range of dynamic concepts and media.

A free, public reception for the artists will be held on Saturday, July 26 from 5 – 8 p.m. with music accompaniment provided by Cathy Clasper-Torch.

The exhibit was conceived by IFA Exhibiting Artist Mercedes Nuñez who sought to put together an exhibition thataddresses the essence of cycles that transform both our inner and outer worlds. Her own work in the exhibit reflects a personal, recurring theme about our country since 04 November 1980, which she sees as an endless cycle of death and deterioration driven by the willful desire to destroy a democracy. She tells her stories through a variety of genres, such as painting, mixed media collage, artist books, assemblage and photography.

Regular gallery hours are Thursday 12-3 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 4 p.m.

IFA is a non-profit organization run by artists for artists. Its mission is to inspire creativity and promote art-making that enriches our communities, IFA does this by providing a supportive community and exhibition space for members and guest artists. IFA also focuses on art programming for the public and collaborative projects with other local and regional organizations to promote the arts.
