Victory at Home: Life on the Homefront and Commemorating VE Day.

May 2025 marks the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. Learn about how the people of Britain dealt with the Blitz and celebrated when the Nazis finally surrendered.
Try on gasmasks and uniforms from the Homefront organisations and listen to a real hand-cranked air raid siren. Join in with the street party outside our 1940s House and Shop and discover what party food looked like during wartime rationing.

Sessions are run throughout the year and have a different theme each time. Choose between a morning session at 1015-1200 or an afternoon session at 1245-1430.
