Join us for Cate’s Run - A beautiful 10K run/walk in the Hertfordshire countryside.
Come and take part in this scenic, flat 10K run/walk through the stunning Hertfordshire countryside! Open to all abilities, this inclusive event warmly welcomes both runners and walkers.
This is the very first Cate’s Run, and we hope to make it an annual tradition - eventually growing into a full marathon.
Why We Run
Cate’s Run is held in memory of our beautiful Cate, to celebrate what would have been her 32nd birthday. Tragically, Cate took her own life in December 2024, following a long battle with anxiety and depression. A passionate advocate for mental health, Cate fought to break the stigma so many people still face.
The event raises funds and awareness for PAPYRUS, a UK charity dedicated to preventing young suicide - the leading cause of death for those under 35.
About the Event
Charity: 70% of your entry fee goes directly to PAPYRUS. You’ll also have the option to make an additional voluntary donation. Every participant will receive a PAPYRUS wristband and information about how your contribution supports this vital cause.
Distance & Time: This is a 10K event, open to both runners and walkers. To ensure a smooth start, we’ll set off participants in waves based on predicted finish times. We ask all participants to complete the course within 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Course: The scenic, mostly flat route includes a beautiful stretch along the River Lea. The course is fully signed and marshalled, so no navigation skills are necessary. There is one stile to cross.
Medals: Every finisher will receive a stunning full-colour Cate’s Run medal as a keepsake.
