Introduction to Mini & Double Hoop Tech
with Pippin
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Mini hoop technicality is often daunting for a beginner, especially for those who are not familiar with poi spinning. This class is an introductory level curriculum for all students - no hoop experience needed, but if you have some single hoop experience, it will help ease the transition into double hooping!
In this course we will touch on the basics of timing and direction, stretching and wrist care for your health as a prop manipulator, as well as tackling some of the first moves double hoopers learn. Tricks that will be dissected and taught are the two beat weave, thread the needle weave, isolation vs horizontal cateye hybrid, split time/opposite direction extensions, and the isolation vs antispin hybrid.
We will also discuss the best methods of practicing, practice regimen, and retaining the movements you’ll learn over your experience as a twin hooper.
The instructor will have some sets of double hoops in various sizes available, but it’s strongly recommended that the students bring their own favorite set!

Pippin
The temptress of tubing is here - it’s Pippin! Spinning props for 13 years, Pippin specializes in mini and double hoops. They also create fire safe clothing and costumes! Pippin is excited to bring what they know about the mini hoop tech world to you!

Class sessions will take outside, weather permitting by the Grey House, CoSM’s Visionary Victorian
WORKSHOP AMENITIES
Limited supplies will be available - guests are encouraged to bring their own!
Tuition also includes Day Admission to CoSM: Saturday July 12th, 12pm - 5:00pm—before the Full Moon Gathering begins.
