Hop into our time machine at the historic Vale & Downland Museum for an evening exploring how we can use creativity to future-proof homes, museums, theatres and more, through a tour of the museum's past, present and future and a community meal.

Who are we?
Green Arts Oxfordshire Network (GAON) unites Oxfordshire’s artists, cultural organisations and community groups in their work to tackle the climate & ecological emergency. We believe that a better future is possible.
Who is this for?
Anyone working or volunteering in the arts & culture sector (museums, galleries, theatres, community centres), as well as both professional and hobbyist creatives of all kinds, (including writers, artists, performers, curators, musicians, photographers and more) are invited to join this community gathering and exchange free-flowing ideas. You do not need to already be making changes to buildings or creating ‘green’ work to join the conversation!
Accessibility:
This event will be at The Vale & Downland Museum in Wantage. Most areas, including toilets, are accessible to visitors with mobility requirements. A stairlift assists with access to the main galleries and a wheelchair is available for visitors to borrow. Unfortunately, as the museum is housed within a historic old building, the Research Library and Mezzanine Gallery are not accessible to wheelchair users.
Getting there:
The museum can be found in Church Street in central Wantage, tucked behind the Market Square and opposite the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. In the interest of reducing the carbon impact of this gathering, we encourage you to consider taking public transport, walking or cycling if these options are accessible to you, but unfortunately there a few public transport connections to Wantage. By bus, you can catch the S9 to Wantage from Oxford, via Botley, Cummor, East Hanney and Grove. One hour free parking (ticket required) is available at three Council owned car parks, the closest to the museum being on Portway (OX12 9BU), alternatively Limborough Road (OX12 9AJ) and Mill Street (OX12 9AJ).
