Girl I Wanna Be is a high-voltage garage/punk power duo from Ngāmotu/New Plymouth, delivering driving basslines, tight beats, and lyrics that dive into everything from the personal to the political. Their sound is gritty, danceable, and unapologetically real.
On stage, Aroha (bass/vocals), who is transfeminine, channels pure kinetic energy—never standing still, always in motion. Zoe (drums/vocals), aka Rude-boy, brings dynamic, skilful singing and drumming that commands attention and creates a magnetic live presence. Together, they offer a performance that’s not just music—it’s a full-body experience.

Formed in 2019, Late For Life Drawing members comprise of visual artists and activists: Peter Heard (guitar, effects, vocals), David Le Fleming (drums), Ché Rogers (bass), and Suraya Sidhu Singh (piano, vocals).
