Iron Mountain Stage Company is holding auditions for A Dickens’ Christmas Carol: A Traveling Travesty in Two Tumultuous Acts. This show is a comedic stage adaptation of the classic Dickens story, where a traveling theatre troupe struggles to put on their annual performance of "A Christmas Carol". The show features a small cast playing multiple roles, and everything that can go wrong, does, leading to hilarious and chaotic results.
We are looking to cast at least 4 women and 3 men to play multiple roles in this "traveling travesty" of Dickens' “A Christmas Carol”. This is a physical comedy - actors should be prepared to communicate all of the hilarious mishaps with and without dialogue.
Characters include:
Sir Selsdon Piddock - a “classical” actor in the truest sense of the word who will be playing Ebenezer Scrooge.
Mrs. Cordelia ffoliet-ffolkes ffortescue Woods - an actress who wishes her resume was as long as her name. She will be playing multiple roles this evening.
Dame Rowena Middlen-Lewis - an actress of some pretensions who plays multiple roles
Cynthia Imbry - a young actress who is the company understudy and is suddenly forced into the production and isn’t prepared but anxious to make an impression
Mr. Elyot Crummels - a once dashing leading man now playing character parts. He will be very busy in the evening’s performance.
Teddy Shub - an over-anxious young actor who appears to be all teeth. He plays every scene as though he were Macbeth.
Mrs. Bettina Salsbury - the company diva who was pretending to be ill for this evening’s performance, assured that the show would be canceled. It hasn’t been and she appears mid-way through the show determined to play her roles.
Stage crew may also be cast in minor roles…and minor roles may be asked to act as stage crew.
