The library is proud to announce Pieces of Our Past: A Heritage Mosaic Workshop Series, a unique, hands-on opportunity for adults to explore their family stories through the timeless art of mosaic. This six-session series will take place on Thursday evenings in October and the first week of November, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, on the library’s lower level. The series will culminate in a community artist reception on Saturday, November 15 at 11:00 AM.
Led by acclaimed mosaic artist Marilyn Lindstrom, participants will learn essential mosaic techniques while creating their own personalized work incorporating meaningful objects that reflect their heritage. The series is designed to foster both artistic growth and personal storytelling in a supportive, community-focused environment.
Program highlights include:
Guided instruction on mosaic techniques such as tessellation, tile nipping, and grouting
Integration of personal or ancestral items into each participant's artwork
Small group instruction and support throughout the creative process
A culminating community exhibit and reception, where artists will share their finished works and the stories behind them
