✨ Parenting Today: Finding Clarity in the Noise ✨
Parenting today can feel like a full-time identity crisis.
One day you’re trying to be gentle and endlessly patient 💛
The next, you worry you’re being too soft.
Then you’re told to be “authoritative but not authoritarian,” calm but firm, involved but not a helicopter…
—all while raising a resilient, successful, emotionally intelligent child.
😮💨 No wonder so many of us feel confused and exhausted.
🌱 You’re Invited to a Special Fundraising Workshop
Join us as we cut through the noise and focus on what kids actually need from us—grounded in brain science and real-life parenting.
📘 Event: Calm, Bold, Consistent: A Brain-Based Approach to Parenting
🎤 Speaker: Mila Teshler
Pediatric Occupational Therapist & Founder of KidLink Therapy
📅 Date: January 10, 2025
⏰ Time: 3pm
📍 Location: Lumen Academy
175 Main Street, Waltham, MA
🧠 In This Workshop, You’ll Learn:
✔️ The differences between gentle, permissive, authoritative, authoritarian, and helicopter parenting—and why many parents feel stuck swinging between extremes
✔️ A simple, clear overview of your child’s brain development and executive functions like impulse control, planning, and problem-solving
✔️ The Calm–Bold–Consistent (CBC) Parenting Model, including:
Calm: How to regulate yourself first so you can co-regulate your child
Bold: How to set clear, non-negotiable frameworks while still offering real choices—leading to fewer power struggles and more cooperation
Consistent: How to use predictable, brain-friendly boundaries and consequences instead of chaos or harshness
✔️ Real-life examples and scripts for everyday challenges like morning routines, homework, screen time, and transitions
💡 This isn’t about becoming a perfect parent.
It’s about becoming a steadier, more confident one, with tools that align with how your child’s brain actually works.
