Our next walk is on Saturday 30th August 2025 and covers Walsall and its surrounding areas.
We will meet outside Platform 1 at Walsall Train Station to begin the walk at 11.00am.
This very varied Ramble will show us wonderful architecture, lakes and a fountain, forests and waterways, all within a 7 mile walk. Come prepared to be surprised! Please also come prepared to walk on grass, pavements and up and down some steps, so appropriate footwear is recommended.
There will be a couple of rest stops including one for lunch, so please bring food if you wish to eat, and also the opportunity to have refreshments in an unusual cafe at the end.
For those coming by public transport from central Birmingham there is a direct train from New Street station and the journey takes approximately 25 minutes arriving at Platform 1. There are also trains from Wolverhampton, Tame Bridge Parkway and Rugeley Trent Valley. Please note that the entrance to Platform 1 is in Station Street, not the entrance in the Saddlers Shopping Centre.
For those coming by car there is a car park in Station Street, which is a short walk to the station, costing £2.50 for the day. There is also free parking in side streets nearby. The post code for the Station Street entrance to the station is WS2 9JZ.
