Livia returns to PCO following her stunning 2023 performance of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. This season, she brings not just one but three remarkable works for violin and orchestra—a rare chance to hear the full emotional and stylistic range of a master artist. From the classical delights of Mozart to the heartfelt lyricism of Tchaikovsky to the virtuosic fire of Ravel’s Tzigane, Livia Sohn’s brings them all together in a tour-de-force of brilliance, intimacy, and emotional depth.
Livia has thrilled audiences around the world with her effortless virtuosity, deep musicality, and compelling stage presence. A graduate of Juilliard, she made her debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the age of 13 and has since appeared with orchestras on five continents. In addition to a distinguished solo career, she is a highly respected chamber musician, known for her nuanced interpretations across a wide repertoire as well as a prominent Stanford violin instructor and educator.
