Fruit Rescue - Moraga Pear Orchard Harvest - TWO shifts

We will harvest fresh pears for donation to the food bank. There are TWO different shifts for this event. Morning- 8:30 am - 12:00 pm and 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. When choosing your tickets please be sure you are choosing the ones for the shift you want.

Please wear closed-toed shoes (no sandals or backless - this is in a field) and clothing appropriate for the expected weather conditions of the day. Come prepared to be outdoors for 4 hours.

Other items we recommend (as we do not provide them) are:

• Hat and Sunglasses
• Snack
• Brown bag to take some fruit home

FAQs

I have never been to a harvest. Can you give me an idea what to expect?

We meet at the orchard where we will use picking poles to harvest their excess fruit. Feel free to bring your own pole, if you have one, but we do have some to loan. Fruit is loaded into crates (we provide those) and then will be picked up by the CCC Food Bank.

Is there an age limit?

Children must be 6 years or older and accompanied by a parent/guardian. If you are under 18 and have a driver's license you may come on your own and drive your car to the harvest locations, but your parent must register you as a minor. Please list age of minor on registration form.

Can I come without registering?

No. Each harvest can accommodate a limited number of volunteers, and our insurance policy requires volunteers to provide emergency contact information and to review and accept the terms and conditions of the Release of Liability Agreement before attending a harvest.

Where Will We Meet?

IInformation about where to meet and other things you need to know will be found in the "Additional Information" section of the Confirmation email you will receive when you register. Be sure to scroll down to find it in that email. We also send out a reminder email the day before. Please be sure to read it.

Can I cancel my ticket after registration?

Yes. We understand things happen! We'd be grateful if you take a minute and cancel your ticket. It gives another volunteer the chance to join the harvest and allows us to plan the right amount of work for the expected volunteers.
