Write By The Sea: a creative writing afternoon

Write By The Sea: join Anna Sayburn Lane, author of nine novels, for a relaxed afternoon of creative writing overlooking the beach in the pretty seaside town of Deal, Kent. The afternoon will take inspiration from travelling and journeys, inspired by our venue, the Downs Sailing Club.

Anna will lead a small group through writing exercises and share tips on what makes a great story and how to get started on a writing project.

You will:

• Learn about why journeys can make brilliant stories
• Work on your own stories of travel – big or small
• Learn about the techniques you can use to tell your story
• Have a chance to share your writing and swap ideas
• Come away with a story to develop in your own time

Suitable for complete beginners and those already working on a creative writing project.

About Anna Sayburn Lane: Anna’s Marjorie Swallow M**der mystery books have sold thousands worldwide. Her first novel, the contemporary thriller Unlawful Things, was shortlisted for the Virago New Crime Writer award. She has also worked as a journalist and regularly gives guided history walks in Canterbury and London.
