Hunting and trapping animals in a short-term survival situation is often hit or miss – literally. High-protein food sources are always the goal, but sometimes game is scarce. The good news is, edible plants are everywhere, and they don’t run away.
Southern Appalachia is one of the richest floral ecosystems on earth, offering up food, medicine, and supplies on a platter – why not learn how to make the most of it?
Here’s what you’ll learn in this 1-day course:
- How to identify over 30 wild edible and medicinal plants
- Ecosystem based identification – what to look for, where
- How to make a salad out of what’s growing in your yard, no matter where you live
- The universal edibility test – how to determine if a plant is safe to eat, no matter where you find yourself
- How to identify the southeast’s deadly and dangerous plants to steer clear of
- How to make a medicinal poultice, infusion, and tincture
And here’s what else you’ll get with the course:
A hot, home-cooked lunch to keep you going throughout the day
Unlimited email support with our instructors after the class is over
