Nipmuc Mishoon Camp at Norcross Wildlife

The Norcross Wildlife Foundation invites you to join our local NIPMUC tribe as they embark on a week-long journey to build a traditional mishoon, also known as a dugout canoe, using an ancestral practice that involves the controlled burning and carving of a carefully selected white pine tree from the Norcross property.

Come to witness the process and learn about the traditional Nipmuc ways of life.

Event is open to the public everyday between August 15 and August 21 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Park in main parking lot and follow signs to Pond #1.
