We are rescheduling the July 26 work session to Saturday, Aug 2nd, due to the high temps and poor air quality forecast for tomorrow.
So, for Aug 2nd, let’s meet at the Hwy 519 trailhead at 10 am Central (11 am eastern.)
We can walk east towards Lepisto Falls. Reports are that the trail from Lepisto north to the rope-climb needs some attention. I’d like to plan for about 4 hours and mainly focus on trimming, flagging and possibly blazing in this area. I’m not anticipating too many blowdowns but we can flag any for a future session.
To get to the trailhead on Hwy 519: From the intersection of Hwy2 and M-28 in Wakefield, go east on M-28, Just out of Wakefield, take Hwy 519 north. The trailhead is on the left, marked by a brown and yellow Forest Service sign.
It is 13.7 miles from US-2/M-28 to the trailhead.
GPS Coordinates of the trailhead::
N 46 39 24.91
W 89 57 11.17
As always, bug repellent and headnets, water, and snacks are recommended Weather forecast so far is a high of 76 for the day. If anyone has a light brush/grass trimmer that would be useful.
