Friends: Daguerreotypes is returning home this Christmas, and one of the things I'll be doing is finally, at long last, releasing my debut solo album under the name Daguerreotypes.
The album is called This Is My Way to Tell You That Everything Is Real and Happening Right Now, and I'm putting it out Dec 28th at the Black Sheep Inn at 2 p.m.
An early review from Devon Welsh of Majical Cloudz:
"It's by far the best music anyone I know has ever sent me — I feel like Kurt Cobain just sent me Nevermind — I'm serious."
Here's the tl;dr—

It's a double album, 20 tracks, and I worked quite hard on it. It's certainly the best thing I've ever been a part of musically.
I have a lot to say about all of this later, but in the meantime I hope you can come, and if you know people who might enjoy it, please share the music and the event invitation.
Here's a bio of what I do:
"The greatest living songwriter...Go see Daguerreotypes whenever you can. One of the most stunning songwriters of our generation, just quietly existing in the Twin Cities. A spiritual warrior." - Zola Jesus
Daguerreotypes is a worker in song, a guitar virtuoso. Daguerreotypes has written 110 songs, so far. Through unforgettable live shows that look more like rituals than concerts, Daguerreotypes explores spirituality and selfhood, leaving audiences moved and terminally perplexed. If you're the kind of person who believes in guilt by association, you'll be glad to know Daguerreotypes has collaborated with Alden Penner and Jamie Thompson (The Unicorns, Islands) and Patrick Watson. Daguerreotypes has also appeared in some form alongside Sharon Van Etten, Devon Welsh (Majical Cloudz), Joe Lally (Fugazi), Leif Vollebekk, and Kelly Joe Phelps. Dare to experience the astonishing new folk sounds of DAGUERREOTYPES.
