I am writing to share information regarding an upcoming fundraiser for Community Cares (CC). Our organization is dedicated to addressing food insecurity for students at Louisburg Elementary, Terrell Lane Middle, and Louisburg Magnet High School, with plans to expand to Edward Best and Laurel Mill Elementary.
CC provides shelf-stable food to over 30 students during extended school breaks when school-provided meals are unavailable. Each distribution requires significant resources to ensure every child has three meals a day for the duration of the break.
To support these efforts, we are hosting the Community Cares Empty Bowls Firehouse Chili Cook-Off:
- Date: March 7th
- Time: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Location: Louisburg Fire Station
As part of the "Empty Bowls" movement, certain ticket holders will receive a hand-thrown ceramic bowl by local artist Michele Ragaglia, along with chili prepared by various Franklin County Fire Departments, dessert, and a beverage.
Ticket Options:
- Adult Chili + Bowl: $15.00
- Adult Chili Only: $10.00
- Child (10 and under): $5.00
- Under 5: Free
We will also hold a raffle with tickets priced at $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00 (must be present to win).
We hope these bowls serve as a reminder of the needs within Franklin County and inspire continued support for these students. For tickets or more information, please reply to this email or call/text 540-220-2962. A flyer is attached with a QR code for donations.
Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you on March 7th!
