Following the severe weather events of 2023, Auckland Council’s Healthy Waters and Flood Resilience teams have been working on improvements to the stormwater network in Muriwai to help reduce future flood risks.

The design team will share updated plans for Motutara Road and Domain Crescent, which aim to:
• Improve the flow of water through grassed drainage channels
• Reduce sediment run-off into stormwater systems
• Improve maintenance access using local equipment
These works are planned to start in early 2026 and will make our stormwater system more resilient to heavy rain and landslides.
