Mr John Scott and The Local Health Advisory Committee (LHAC) are in support of the idea to establish a stand alone Can-Assist branch in Coolamon. This will help cancer patients to obtain monetary assistance with their cancer care and treatment. It is envisaged that the Can-Assist group will cover Marrar, Coolamon, Ganmain and Matong. Ardlethan already have a strong Can-Assist group.
The need for a Can-Assist group has arisen in the Coolamon district because Wagga branch can no longer assist people in need as they are helping 650+ patients/clients in the Wagga area. If Coolamon district people need assistance, it currently comes from Sydney and that's not sustainable nor aligned with the group’s “ raised local helps local mission.”
Helps us to create a branch for our Shire.
