June First Friday: "Safety Palooza" Protect and Play, Honoring Our Safety Services

Happy June! Our June First Friday is Safety Palooza: Protect and Play, Honoring Our Safety Services. Visit downtown and our local businesses and restaurants and enjoy the many activities. This First Friday will feature:

Main Street Wadsworth
Visit the Main Street Wadsworth table in front of the M.C. Real Estate building for a put out the fire carnival milk bottle knockdown game and a shopping/dining challenge participation card. Those who spend $15+ at 4 participating businesses will be entered to win a safety gift package. Also stop by the Pocket Park for the Ladies Night Concert!

Medina County Health Department
Will be giving information on traffic, pedestrian and bicycle safety messages such as Click It or Ticket, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Don't Text and Drive. They have a traffic trivia wheel they will also bring.

Medina County Sheriffs Office
Will have a bearcat armored vehicle and cruiser at the event!

Norton Police Department
Will have 1 cruiser at the event!

Ohio State Patrol
Will have 1 cruiser at the event!

Grace Lutheran Church and the Wadsworth Footlighters
Will have a photo opportunity and safety force tattoos! Chalk drawing on sidewalks too!

Grizzly Strength and Wadsworth Blue Tip Festival
Take part in the Blue Tip Fire Truck Pull - A charity fire truck pull with proceeds going to The Wadsworth Blue Tip Festival Committee. Teams up to 12 members will pull a truck using a rope for 50ft as quickly as they can (Registration fee is $250). Solo entries will have a harness and be given a lead rope to pull the truck for time (Registration fee is $25).

Learn CPR
Has FREE CPR & AED hands only training! Come and learn how to save a life over at King's Street Cafe.

The Sub Station
Open until 9:00 p.m.! Try their almost famous Lou Dog #1 Chili, cheese and onion for $6! Extinguish your thirst with their adult lemonade slushy for $7! Sidewalk chalk in the alley and free treats for kids!!

Seville Police Department
Will have 1 to 2 cruisers at the event!

Uniquely Handmade For You
Will have free face painting by Ali (weather permitting). They will
also be giving away free gift to the 1st 50 Dads for Father’s Day.

Urban Cottage
Will be giving all children glow sticks to use in the dark.

Wadsworth Fire Department
Will be bringing vehicles and a kids hose spray course!

Wadsworth Police Department
Will have 2 cruisers at the event! They will also have the "last official community event" for K9 Zoro and his handler Sgt. Petit. A "retirement ceremony" in Council Chambers before the First Friday kicks off will take place.

Wadsworth Public Library
Join them for First Friday: Safety Palooza, a fun, family-friendly evening celebrating our community’s first responders! Kids can enjoy the Knock Down the Fire game, make traffic light crafts and their own safety badges! Don’t forget to stop by the thank-you station to show your appreciation for our local heroes!
