The wheel turns,
the first fruits ripen;
Harvest time approaches!
In the high summer meadows of Paradise, we gather for the Celtic festival of Lughnasadh (Lammas) with a feast of Cornish folk traditions & a celebration of local cultural diversity.
We invite you to join us as we harvest the fruits from the children’s forest, & then for a workshop to prepare apple, plum, & berry compotes. We will then cook up cakes & fruit-breads on the camp fire to enjoy together whilst we are entertained with folklore, stories, & songs of the land.
The event will feature the following:
• Take part in traditional craft workshops & make yourself a corn dolly, nettle cord bracelet, or Lammas wreath
• Find your feet with our Cornish dancing
• Be enchanted with Cornish storytelling from Mythwalker
• Experience an Indian Kirtan, learn traditional chants & mantras & find out how these songs connect to the Cornish landscape
• Explore the art of movement with a contact improvisation workshop & dance jam with Shalika Wolf (16+)
• Indulge yourself with a plate from our vegan feast: seasonal Cornish produce cooked up in the Indian style (affordable prices – cash only)
• Visit our café for; cacao, herbal teas, & sweet & healthy treats
• Relax with guided Yoga Nidra meditations from Wiseheart Sam
• Share your talents at the open-mic (story, song, and spoken word)
• Soak up the entertainment with our programme of performers, poets, musicians, & storytellers in the yurt
.Estactic Dance to finish the evening with a Bang
