Building High Performing Boards: Laying the Foundation

Join Cooper Foundation on August 8th from 9:00 - 11:30am at the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce - Cooper Room (101 S 3rd St) for a free training on nonprofit board governance. Doors open at 8:30 am for a light breakfast and networking.

This training is intended for new board members, current board members, community members who are considering joining a nonprofit governance board, or nonprofit professionals wanting to learn more about nonprofit governing boards.

The presentation by Felicia Goodman, Executive Director of Cooper Foundation will include the following:

• Legal Duties & Basic Responsibilities of Nonprofit Board Members
• Building a Great Board
• Trends in Board Structure for Leading Organizations

Schedule:

• 8:30 am - Doors open for a light breakfast and networking
• 9:00 am - Program begins
• 11:30 am - Program Concludes

• Handouts will be provided at the training

This training will be offered 2-3 times each year so that nonprofit boards can ensure that new board members are trained in board governance.
