Nightlife in the Meadow: Educational Program & Social Event

Charlotte Brennan, environmental educator & conservation biologist at UCONN, will guide us through the dark fields of Old Field Preserve, while we search for nighttime critters and learn what they're up to while we're asleep in our beds. After we've learned about our local nightlife, we'll gather in the Meditation Garden to build a nightlife of our own. All attendees are encouraged to join a social byob celebration after the educational portion of the program. Bringing something to share is encouraged but not necessary.

The social component of this program is strictly for adults. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes and appropriate layers. We also ask that everyone bring a flashlight, lantern, or headlamp. Steady rain or other inclement weather will reschedule to July 26th. This walk is rated easy and is relatively flat. Please register so that we may plan according to our numbers.

The entrance to Old Field Preserve is on the East side of Mead Street in Waccabuc at the intersection of Schoolhouse Road. There's plenty of parking in the preserve and on the side of the preserve driveway.
