About the event

Heart of the Nation Walk

Join us Tuesday, August 26th at 7 PM as the WaKeeney VFW Auxiliary hosts a community walk from the Trego County courthouse lawn to the veterans cemetery — 1.3 miles in honor of the 13 U.S. service members who gave their lives on August 26, 2021, during the attack at the Kabul airport in Afghanistan.
Let’s walk together to remember, reflect, and show our gratitude to all who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. ❤️🤍💙
📍 Meet at the courthouse lawn
🕖 Walk begins at 7 PM
💧 Bring water
Arrangements are being made to shuttle walkers back to the starting point.
