WS: Paternalism and the Aid Narrative

Would you like to get involved in supporting refugees? Are you already involved or are you returning from a volunteer stay at Europe's (external) borders? Would you like to become more aware of the power dynamics that prevail in support structures? Then our workshop is the right place for you to reflect on paternalism and the 'help' narrative in the context of support work with refugees.

In the workshop, we will explore the dynamics of paternalism in social interactions in support and humanitarian work, understand its impact on marginalized communities and promote alternative narratives that do not reinforce dependency but empower people.

This workshop is held in cooperation with Brückenwind e.V.
