The Texas Kidney Foundation's mission is to slow or stop the progression of rare and chronic kidney diseases while enhancing the health and lives of impacted individuals, families, and their local communities.

The Texas Kidney Foundation’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors Community Health Fair is a community-centered event providing FREE health screenings and essential services aimed at empowering individuals to take control of their health. In addition to kidney health, this fair addresses a wide range of health concerns and offers educational resources to support long-term well-being. 💪🏽💙🩺
Health Screenings and Services Include:
•🧪 Kidney health check: eGFR, creatinine, uACR, and genetic kidney health screening for qualified participants
•💉 Blood glucose, A1C, cholesterol, blood pressure, and BMI evaluation
•🦷 Dental and 👓 vision screenings
•🧠 Behavioral health counseling
•👩⚕️ Women’s health services (mammogram/pap smear scheduling)
•💵 Financial education and other vital community resources
In partnership with local agencies, TKF expands the range of services offered at the fair, ensuring that participants can access additional services such as dental screenings, liver health checks, vision care, and mental health support. These collaborations enable TKF to provide comprehensive care that addresses both medical and social needs. 🤝🏽
Community Health Workers (CHWs) will be on-site to provide health referrals, assist in accessing medical homes, and connect participants with resources to navigate the healthcare system. 🩺📋
This event also addresses the social determinants of health, ensuring participants receive holistic care that supports long-term health improvements. 🌿
