Knox County Democrats, Knox County Young Democrats and Daviess County Democrats will host a NO KINGS peaceful protest from 1 to 3 p.m. (eastern time) Saturday, October 18, on the grounds of Knox County Courthouse, 111 N. 7th St, Vincennes. Knox Countians and others throughout the area are invited to wave protest signs along Seventh Street downtown, beginning at 1 p.m. A short program of speakers will begin around 1:45 p.m. at the courthouse steps facing Seventh Street.
Participants should park on the street, or take advantage of city parking lots at Sixth and Main Streets. If you are able-bodied, please reserve the Courthouse lot for those with handicapped placards and seniors. ADA seating will be available for participants unable to stand for extended periods. There is marked handicapped parking available in the lot adjacent to the courthouse.
Beginning at 11 a.m., there will be a free sign-making event at Knox County Democratic Party Headquarters, located at 1010 Washington Ave., Vincennes. Posterboard, markers, and other supplies will be available. Please park across Washington Avenue, or use street parking on College Avenue or Short Seventh Street (behind building).
This event will take place rain or shine, and will only be cancelled for extreme weather conditions. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for weather conditions.
