Step into an inspiring live experience where poetry turns into music — in the heart of Vilnius.
Yiddish Veršes is a musical-literary project in which seven Belarusian musicians — Palina, Tok Rukoo, KOOB, Svetlana Ben (WTBSK), Syndrom Samazvanca, Lightowy, and Anastasia Rydlevskaya — reimagine the poetry of Jewish poets from Belarus who wrote in Yiddish in the early 20th century.
From dreamy electronica to rap and indie, each track brings nearly forgotten voices into today’s soundscape. The project aims to rediscover and celebrate a cultural heritage that has long remained overlooked and marginalized.
This event marks the first public presentation of the album — with live performances by the featured artists and conversations with the project’s curators.
More than just a concert, Yiddish Veršes is an act of creative reflection and cultural preservation — building a bridge between Belarusian and Lithuanian historical contexts.
The event also carries special symbolic meaning: it takes place during the centenary year of YIVO, the renowned institute for Yiddish scholarship founded in Vilnius in 1925.
