Šitiek optimizmo, šitiek linksmybės sukoncentruota tų laikų dainose. Tai buvo tarsi opiumas, tikras pamišimas, ir „The Ditties“ savo muzikinėje veikloje nejučia atgaiviname tą visagalį muzikos kvaitulį, tiksliai, korektiškai, profesionaliai ir kartu labai emocingai atkurdamos tos epochos moterų vokalinių ansamblių stilistiką. „The Ditties“ is one of a kind ensemble in Lithuania (and we believe, in a bit broader area too) – so dizzy, elegant, sophisticated, genteel – able to blow one's mind away to the great swing epoch with a slight girlish finger click. 30's and 40's were the times when music ruled the world or at least drove it crazy. Female vocal ensembles like „Boswell Sisters“, „Andrews Sisters“ or „Dinning Sisters” happened to be real leaders of the music industry, giving people what they starved for: getting a bit happier, a bit more cheerful and careless, despite all the economical troubles felt in that period. „The Ditties“ just bring back all that huge positive musical madness by reviving the style of female vocal groups of swing era and doing that faithfully, truly and really emotionally.
Uniquely talented singers Veronika Čičinskaitė-Golovanova, Rūta Švipaitė, Rūta Jakulytė-Valčiukienė appear on stage as genuine swing queens, making the audience immediately feel the powerful attractiveness of the style.
This is a skillful and bright ensemble with a huge positive load. Their story started in 2011 and is getting more and more intense lately: debut album „The Ditties“ (CD) in 2016, vinyl „Christmas Swing“ (LP) in 2019, in 2021 new album „Estrada“ (CD and LP) the repertoire is growing, as well as the geography of concert tours. Every time hearing „The Ditties“ is an unforgettable, cute and extremely fun experience, worth repeating without any doubts.
