Mathias Sandberg vadinamas „viena geriausiai saugomų Suomijos paslapčių“. Plačiai pripažintas gitaristas ir kompozitorius Mathias Sandberg yra vienas iš daugiausiai dirbančių džiazo muzikantų šalyje. Nešantis tradicinio džiazo vėliavą ir sekantis Amerikos džiazo tradicija, Mathias atliekama muzika nukelia klausytoją į JAV džiazo klubų atmosferą.
Jis studijavo Manhatano muzikos mokykloje Niujorke ir Berklee muzikos koledže Bostone, taip pat dirbo su tokiais atlikėjais kaip Georg Riedel, Brian Charette, Nick Mancini, Peter Asplund, Jukka Eskola, Teppo Mäkynen ir Manuel Dunkel. Sandberg kasmet sugroja apie šimtą koncertų ir yra koncertavęs tiek Europoje, tiek Jungtinėse Amerikos Valstijose.
Mathias Sandberg debiutinis solo albumas The Doctor (2020) ir ilgai lauktas tęsinys The Captain(2023) sulaukė puikių kritikų įvertinimų ir buvo transliuojami džiazo radijo stotyse Europoje, JAV, Pietų Amerikoje, Azijoje ir Australijoje. Albumai atskleidžia unikalų giliai svinguojančio, groovy ir soulful džiazo derinį, pasižymintį stipriomis melodijomis, ritmiškai žaismingomis improvizacijomis ir maloniu, beveik telepatiniu trijų muzikantų tarpusavio ryšiu.

Hard swingin’, groovy and soulful jazz! He has been called “one of Finland’s best kept secrets” – the highly acclaimed guitarist and composer Mathias Sandberg is one of the hardest working jazz musicians in the country.
He studied at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and Berklee College of Music in Boston, and has worked with artists such as Georg Riedel, Brian Charette, Nick Mancini, Peter Asplund, Jukka Eskola, Teppo Mäkynen, and Manuel Dunkel.
Sandberg plays around a hundred concerts a year and has toured both Europe and the United States. His debut solo album The Doctor (2020) and the highly anticipated follow-up The Captain (2023) have received rave reviews and airplay on jazz radio stations across Europe, the US, South America, Asia, and Australia.
The albums showcase his unique blend of hard-swingin’, groovy and soulful jazz, with strong melodic writing, rhythmically playful improvisation, and a delightful, almost telepathic interplay between the trio.
