King of Tokyo is a fast-paced dice game where players take the role of powerful monsters fighting for dominance over Tokyo. Each monster starts with 10 life points and equal strength. Throughout the game, monsters can gain energy to acquire powers that boost their fame, enhance their attacks, or provide protection. Victory is achieved either by being the first to earn 20 fame points or by being the last monster standing.
Tournament Format:
The tournament will be played as a Swiss-style event using only the base game of King of Tokyo. Each player participates in 2 qualifying games - top participants proceed to a final round.
Each round is limited to 45 minutes.
Tiebreakers:
In the event of a tie, the following tiebreakers will be applied in order:
Surviving monsters outrank those that are eliminated. Monsters who die later rank higher than those who die earlier.
For monsters eliminated at the same time (or not eliminated), rank is determined by the number of stars (fame points).
If tied in stars, rank is determined by the number of hearts. For those eliminated at the same time, this includes negative hearts.
If still tied, rank is determined by the total cost of all owned cards.
If still tied, rank is determined by the number of energy cubes.
If still tied, each tied player rolls six dice, with the highest number of claws determining the winner.
