Join a bunch of rowdy (but nice) people to visit Victoria BC on either June 17 or 18 - or BOTH!
How this idea began: Two things sparked this idea, to travel as a group on the Ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, BC. : The absurd attacks directoward toward our ally, Canada - tariffs launched against Canada, the ridiculous assault on Canada's sovereignty, concerns of Canadians for their Arctic lands, and other attacks by the Trump administration, and the "welcome Canada to the US" commercially inspired event scheduled in Feb. at the PA Ferry Terminal.
We thought "Why not travel to Victoria as a friendship group, spend $$$ as each person desires (restaurants, museums, Butchart Gardens, music, sight seeing of various kinds.), to thumb our noses at harmful, devastating nonsense directed at Canada and dividing us.
Since a number of people on various FB pages have 'liked' this idea and expressed they'd participate, we are now going forward with this event.
Because of weather, June appeared to be a better month to visit, when many more activities for tourists are available.
Black Ball Ferry and the Victoria hotels have PACKAGES available which help to reduce costs and for easier planning. If you are interested in joining us, I advise that you MAKE RESERVATIONS asap, as these packages are very popular, whether you plan to stay the night or just want to attend one of the two days. Important to plan ahead especially if you're taking a vehicle.
PASSPORT or SPECIAL ID (such as Enhanced Driver's License) will be required.

Then, the Victoria BC visitors center, and other websites found through exploration using a search engine. You'll find the Ferry Schedules, Hotel rates and locations, maps.
I rate this event as 'moderate to strenuous." I'm not a travel agent or a tourist guide - fair warning - so research, planning, and all actiivities you do are on your own. I bear no responsibility for your participation. Think about your health and ability, too, since we do not want to pose any hardship on one another. Thank you. There are local travel agents if you want their help, especially if this is your first time traveling and/or need special assistance.
At this point, as people reserve and let us know on the event page what you want to do, there is no expectation of anyone having to join any group activity. Victoria is a vibrant large city, with many places to stay, eat, and visit. Please post the gems you find here on this event page, especially if you are looking for companionship to go together. You may be able to connect here for activities to do, and hotel rooms to share to cut down on costs, rooms which have double beds and fold down sofas.
In early June, I'll post suggestions for us to do together once we start posting ideas.
If you're wanting to share a room to cut costs, I advise that you meet well before the travel time to decide on compatibility. FYI, this event's purpose is not to be a 'hook up' extravaganza. :-)
I've decided to travel on June 17, mid AM and return mid afternoon the next day. I'll "walk on" the ferry, since the Hotel I've reserved, the Huntingdon Hotel, is not far from the Ferry terminal. On the 18th, early AM, I'll probably tour Butchart Gardens, weather permitting.
Please be welcomed to reserve a room at my Hotel! (Do it soon!) It'd be fun to have a large group to enjoy meals, spontaneous discussions and strolls, etc. together (breakfast is included at my Hotel) on one or both days, and to assemble for activities in group with new friends.
We're bound to have fun.
