Meet your neighbours during an evening of FREE bicycle-powered music in Reeson Park (Wharf Street, south of the Johnson Street bridge and the Northern Junk buildings).
The concert will feature performances by Georgiy Matviyiv (Ukrainian bandura) and Wingy Scruffhead (piano folk). See below for performer bios.

We encourage those who are able to walk, cycle or take public transit to the event. The closest bus stops are on Wharf at Yates (routes 10, 14 and 15) and on Johnson at Wharf (routes 24 and 25). There is paid parking in the Bastion Square Parkade on Yates Street, as well as a few spots in a small lot beside the Northern Junk buildings, just north of the park.
About the performers:
Georgiy Matviyiv is the winner of many international bandura competitions, inventor of the latest techniques for playing the bandura, has recorded six CDs with his own music, has performed in more than 15 countries around the world, and for the last two years has been performing in Canada (Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Salt Spring Island). Wingy Scruffhead accidentally and intentionally creates honest, playful piano-and-voice songs that utilize wordplay and observational poetry to convey themes of ecology and mental health. The words and melodies of the songs most often appear while taking solo walks in nature (hence all the birdiness).
