Why dance? Because science says so! A major 2024 Australian-led study published in The BMJ found that dance and other forms of exercise are some of the most powerful ways to beat depression and lift our spirits.

About World Mental Health Day: World Mental Health Day was first celebrated in 1992 spearheaded by the World Federation for Mental Health to raise awareness and mobilize efforts in support of mental health globally. Each year the day is marked with a specific theme set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations (UN). For 2024 the theme is "Mental Health is a Universal Human Right" emphasizing the importance of accessible equitable mental health care for everyone everywhere. Since 2019 Care-2-Share has been the main host of World Mental Health Day in Victoria bringing the community together with resource and service providers across our city and inspiring conversation for the benefit of us all.
