Info: This talk explores the feasibility of implementing a data erasure policy โ inspired by the European Unionโs โRight to be Forgottenโ โ within the Ministry of Finance. Drawing on a mixed-methods research approach, this presentation will examine the Ministry's current data management landscape and delve into the numerous considerations and challenges the Ministry might face in aligning with modern data privacy principles.
Info: Spencer will deliver an update on the Freedom of Information and Privacy Associationโs (FIPA) research project into the implementation of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPPA) and Information Management Act (IMA). The study, which takes place at the intersection of political science and science and technology studies, is currently in the analysis phase and examines how freedom of information and records management work is coordinated through rules (e.g. policies, procedures, etc.) and guidance (presentations, users manuals, etc.) โ drawing on a dataset of thousands of documents obtained using FOI requests directed all 66 public authorities subject to both FOIPPA and IMA.
Info: This talk will outline some strategies for creating a FIPPA-compliant Microsoft environment. It will include an overview of available Microsoft resources, including a foundational privacy impact assessment, and sensitivity labels guide.
Target audience: those interested in information governance in M365, privacy, and freedom of information.
Info: Generative AI systems like Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPTs) present revolutionary opportunities across industries, from automating workflows to enhancing decision-making processes. However, with a robust Information Governance (IG) program, organizations can avoid significant risks: data inaccuracies, compliance violations, intellectual property leaks, and legal penalties. This presentation emphasizes the foundational role of IG in AI deployment and explores integration requirements, governance maturity, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure AI drives measurable value.
