Got science-based questions about the Coorong, Murray, or their beautiful surrounds?
Now’s your chance to ask them directly to the scientists who study them!
Science by the Shore is a FREE event where you take the lead in the conversation. We’re flipping the script — you ask the questions, and researchers from the region will be there to listen, engage and explore your concerns and curiosities.
📍 When & Where?
🗓️ Friday 25 July
⏰ Doors open at 5:30pm for complimentary drinks & nibbles — event kicks off at 6:00pm
📍 Coorong, Lower Lakes, and Murray Mouth Research Centre (CLLMM), Goolwa
Whether you're passionate about the environment or just curious about what's happening in your own backyard, there are three easy ways to get involved:
1️⃣ Submit a science question – anything you’ve ever wondered about the local environment.
https://research.unisa.edu.au/redcap/surveys/?s=P7JDE78RATCETELA
2️⃣ Take a short 10-minute survey – help us understand how people connect with science and nature (submit a question and you’ll be automatically invited!)

3️⃣ Come along to the event – be part of the conversation in person!
✨ Bonus! Complete the survey and go in the draw to WIN a $50 voucher to Bombora on the River, right here in Goolwa!
The online survey is part of research being conducted at UniSA, which explores engagement with a community directed science event.
This research, called “Evaluating the benefits of community directed science engagement”, will explore your relationship with science and the natural environment and will involve you answering both multiple choice and short answer questions. To participate, you must be 18 years of age or older, be able to read and write English, and not be employed by the CLLMM.
This project has been approved by the University of South Australia's Human Research Ethics Committee (Ethics Protocol 206988).
📬 Prefer pen and paper? Drop your questions or surveys off at the CLLMM Centre (Level 1/92 Barrage Rd, Goolwa South) during business hours.
Let’s make science local, meaningful, and all about YOU.
💬 Ask. 🍷 Show up. 💚 Be heard.
And feel free to share this with your mates!
