Close your eyes when Schmoe & Co play, and it’s not difficult to imagine that you’re in a New York jazz club listening to a world-class hard bop act. That’s because you are. With up-tempo standards that keep toes tapping, to ballads that will stop a heart in its tracks, Schmoe Elhay (tenor sax) is uncompromising in his pursuit of melody, harmony and rhythm. Joining him on this musical sojourn are the suitably talented Greg Huxtable (piano), Tom Byrne (bass), and Craig Lauritson (drums).
