Intro to Junk Journaling

Welcome to the Intro to Junk Journaling event!

Join us on September 16, 2025 at 6:00 PM for a creative and fun session. Journals and materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your old magazines, photos, and papers to learn how to make unique and personalized journals. No experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm! See you there!

Junk Journaling is a creative way to combine journaling with collage, mixed media, and artistic expression, often incorporating found objects and ephemera. The term "junk" refers to the use of discarded or unwanted items that are given new life in the journal.

Focus on Repurposing:

Use materials that might otherwise be thrown away, such as old book pages, magazines, packaging, fabric scraps, and even ticket stubs or receipts.

Artistic Expression:

Express creativity through collage, mixed media, and other artistic techniques, allowing for personal expression and experimentation.

Memory Keeping:

Create a place to record thoughts, experiences, and memories, much like a traditional journal or scrapbook.

Unique and Eclectic:

Use of diverse materials often results in a unique and eclectic aesthetic, making each junk journal a one-of-a-kind creation.
